Co-organized the workshop “Digital Rights impact on ICTD Research: Considerations of the data privacy of many beneficiaries of ICTD interventions” for the International Conference on information Communication Technologies and Development 2017. ICTD2017.(Lahore, Pakistan).

This workshop offers attendees a forum to introduce and discuss the projects or initiatives in which they are currently involved in their country in a fast track way. This platform will allow presenters and attendees to have a different perspective and understanding of the realities of ICTD in different countries. We anticipate participation from the community to discuss how some of the digital right policies have influenced ICTD researches in developing countries or how ICTD research community have considered the responsible data use or data privacy of many of the beneficiaries of their interventions. As mo st ICTD researches involve some collections, analysis and sharing of personal data. How has the continuous awareness of the citizens affected the quality of research or has it introduced hindrances to valuable data points. Consent forms are received from people before the pictures are taken and shared. How does this apply to sensitive data like patient medical records, geographic locations, personal privacy or security?
